How to join the industry

There are various ways in which you can join the capital markets industry in Uganda;

1. Issuing company shares to the public
2. Listing your company on the Uganda Securities Exchange
3. Issuing Commercial Paper
4. Issuing a Bond
5. Obtaining a broker/dealer, investment advisor, fund manager, unit trust manager or
6. Unit trust trustee license

Listing on the stock exchange

The official list of the Uganda Securities Exchange (USE) is categorized into three
different market segments each having different eligibility and listing criteria.

The three market segments are;

1. Main Investment Market Segment (MIMS),
2. Alternative Investment Market Segment (AIMS),
3. Fixed Income Securities Market Segment (FISMS)

MIMS is the main quotation market segment with stringent eligibility, disclosure and
listing requirements.
